DATABASE SETUP

DOWNLOAD

Download the latest version of phpWebSite from the phpWebSite web site. Extract the file locally to your computer.
CONFIGURATION

UPLOAD

Upload all files and folder to the httpdocs folder via FTP. Change the following permissions:
- config folder - 777
- images - 777
- images/mod - 777
- templates - 777
- files - 777
- logs - 777
- javascript - 777
- javascript/modules - 777
SETUP

Run the setup by visiting http://www.example.com/setup/.
Step 1: Create Config File
Screen 1: Site Setup
The site setup screen provides you with links to various forums of support.
Click Begin Installation
Screen 2: Create Config File
Source Directory: (should auto fill)
Site Hash: (randomly generated - recommended to leave alone)
Pear Configuration: Use Pear files included with phpWebSite (recommended)Click Continue
Screen 3: Database
This screen will ask you for the database information.
Database Name: database name
Database Type: MySQL (supports various database types)
Database User: database username
Database Password: database user password
Table prefix: (optional)
Host Specification: localhost (should work)
Host Specification Port: leave blank (unless you are provided with port information)Click Continue
Screen 4
This screen informs you that your configuration file was successfully written. Click Move on to Step 2
Step 2: Create Core
Step 2 creates the core installation. Click Continue to Module Installation
Step 3: Install Modules
Screen 1
Screen 1 installs the modules and allows you to create an administrator account.
Username: admin username
Password: admin password (enter it twice)
Email: admin email addressClick Add User
Screen 2
Screen 2 allows you to select a theme and set a page title.
Pick a theme: choose one from the dropdown menu
Page Title: desired page titleClick Done
Screen 3
Screen 3 informs you that the installation is complete. Click Go to my new website!
